GUITAR STRINGS & PRESSING PLAY

HIM: So, I have a surprise for you.

ME: Ugghh, you didn’t. Now it puts the pressure on me because I don’t have a surprise for you.

HIM: Haha, I don’t need it. I wanted to do something for you.

ME: You know, I won’t change my mind simply because you got me something or did something for me. If that’s what this is, please don’t.

HIM: Hey, stop. That’s not what this is. Do I hope you like it and give me a chance? I’d be a liar if I said it wasn’t true. I actually hope that of everything I do. That soon I’ll wear you down enough, lol.

ME: Major eyerolls 😛

HIM: But….I did this because I wanted to. Here.

No he did not send me a video of him playing his guitar and singing.

An acoustic guitar resting in a warm, cozy room.

It was one of his favorite songs, one he’s been playing since he was a teenager. The song is incredibly sexy, and I couldn’t believe he decided to play it for me. BUT a small, petty part of me wonders how many others have had this exact video sent to them. Hmm……

Ok, honestly? I don’t care. It made me so happy, silly, stupid the fact that he decided to give me a gift in the form of music. In real life, a gesture like this would have made me swoon. Here, through a screen, still swooning, but definitely more guarded because I knew he was a clever, crafty man using a skill at his disposal that he knew I’d fall for because of my love of music.

A smart, dangerous man indeed.
